What is a Summer-Only Student?

Students attending summer session who do not plan to complete a degree at Colorado State are classified as summer-only students. Courses for summer-only students are offered on-campus, online, or through a combination of on-campus and online delivery.

Choose one of the two processes outlined below according to the type of course delivery you are seeking:

1. Online Only

Summer-only students wanting to take only online summer course(s) — no on-campus courses — do not need to apply for admission, and register through CSU Online.

  • CSU Online’s Summer 2017 course offerings will be available online by March 10. Learn more

2. Campus Courses (with or without online courses):

Summer-only students wanting to register for any on-campus summer course(s) must first complete the Non-Degree Summer-Only application and create an eID.

  • Application processing begins in early March, in time for the start of Summer Session registration on March 21.
  • Once admitted, register through RAMweb.

Graduate level courses:

If you are interested in taking graduate-level course as a non-degree student before applying for graduate admission, be sure to see guidance from the academic department(s) you are considering first.

Degree-Seeking Students:

Students not currently enrolled at CSU must apply for admission to CSU as a degree-seeking student.
