CSU Spur: Math Courses and Math Placement
New for Summer 2026: CSU Spur is offering in-person Math courses in Denver. Free Math Placement Support Sessions are available for students completing the Math Placement Tool, Entry Level Math, and/or the Precalculus Tutorial.
These offerings are designed to support students in the Denver Metro area, but they are open to any CSU student, regardless of whether they plan to enroll in Spur Start or attend CSU in Fort Collins in the fall.
Math Courses
These offerings are available to any CSU student — continuing or new, Spur Start or CSU-Fort Collins. Because these courses are taught in person at the CSU Spur Campus in Denver, they are intended for students who will be in Denver over the summer. These courses are not exclusive to the Spur Start program. As with any summer course, students should be prepared to take these courses within an accelerated format.
Registration Process (Department Approval Required)
New CSU students must notify Admissions that they would like to change their start term from FA26 to SM26, then register via RAMweb.
To register for summer math courses at Spur, students must request department approval by emailing [email protected] and include their name, CSU ID, course and section number, and CRN. This process is in place to ensure students are aware these courses are offered in person at the Spur campus.
Support Sessions
New and continuing students are encouraged to sign up for the MPT and ELM support sessions. While continuing students are not eligible to complete the Precalculus Tutorial, they are still eligible to participate in any or all support sessions due to the flexible format of these offerings.
Support sessions (MPT, ELM, and Precalculus Tutorial) are non-credit bearing, offered at no cost, and require sign-up.
The content of the Math Placement Support Sessions will be tailored to the needs of the students who attend.
Students can expect to receive guidance in a supportive group setting and are encouraged to attend as many sessions as possible — whether they are able to participate in just one session or all eight.
