CSU Mountain Campus Courses

The beautiful CSU Mountain Campus — 90 minutes up the scenic Poudre Canyon — is just next door, but a world away. Experience learning at 9,000 feet!

Courses open to all majors

  • Environmental Humanities is offered by the College of Liberal Arts. Students may take any or all of the two-week, three-credit courses. Courses are:
    • Art in Forest Systems (ART 380A5),
    • Environmental History of Colorado (HIST 373), and
    • Environmental Philosophies (PHIL 245, AUCC 1C).
  • Identity Consciousness and Social Engagement (EDUC 380A6):
    • Offered as an immersive experience at the CSU Mountain Campus, June 6-13, 2026.
    • Through self-reflection, inquiry, and group dialogues students explore how their personal experiences and social identities have shaped their perceptions of themselves and others. With a focus on identity literacy, students will deepen their understanding of culture, social justice, race, and equity while exploring the role of activism as a tool for creating meaningful change.

  • Wildlife Film, Photography, and Video (JTC 490):
    Learn specialized camera, editing, and audio skills to capture the essence of wildlife and conservation.

    • Offered on site at the CSU Mountain Campus, August 10-21, 2026.
      • Arrive Monday, August 10 | Present projects Friday, August 21.
    • Sophomores or above, any major.
    • Must register for three (3) credits.
    • Costs include 3 credits of university summer tuition and fees plus $754 for Mountain Campus housing/meals/administration.

Additional Courses

The Warner College of Natural Resources (WCNR) offers courses specifically for students pursuing majors within the college. The summer courses at the CSU Mountain Campus available only to WCNR majors are:

  • Geology Field Camp (GEOL 436)
  • Natural Resource Ecology and Measurements (NR 220/NR 221)
